July 6th, 2008

  • Today the service starts at 9:30 am with a Muffin breakfast and worship and at  11:15 am there will be a Congregational meeting to receive Deeperwater’s verbal Assessment Results Report and Recommendations. Please remain for this important meeting. A full written report will follow in 15 days.

  • Approximately 10,000+ believers came together at GM Place on Tuesday evening in a mighty move of God to worship and be challenged with the new thing God is doing in our region. The impossible is becoming possibly, in God’s power!

  • Prayer Meeting this Wednesday night at 7:00 pm and we will meet in the Daycare for this night. Hope to see you there!

  • Summer Worship Schedules are ready for pickup from your mailboxes. If you need one and it’s not in your box, please let Annette know.

  • Would you consider helping out in Sunday School for a Summer Sunday? Volunteers are needed for two classes: ages 3 thru Grade 3 and for Grades 4-7. We will be doing “Summer Cinema” with Christian movies supplied for each session. If you can help out, please put your name down on the sign up sheet that will be circulated during the service or see Donna Ottosen after the service.

  • August 15-17 – Play & Pray in our Church Park. Bear Creek’s version of the Feast of Tabernacles (Shelters, Booths, Tents….see Deuteronomy 16:13ff and John 7:1ff). Combine family camping fun with a weekend worship fest. Each family looks after their own food and camping gear. Stay all weekend or come and go. For more info please see Pastor Doug

  • Calling all Cyclists – Bethesda Christian Association is hosting its fifth annual Cycling for Kids.  The purpose for this event is to raise funds in support of children with disabilities and their families. This one day event is scheduled for Saturday July 12, 2008. Participants can choose to cycle the full fifty kilometers or a lesser distance. If you love cycling and would like to join the Bethesda Team, contact our Head Office at Bethesda for more information and registration at 604-850-6604.

  • Did you know you can now make your donations to BCCC through automatic monthly withdrawals? Pick up an Automatic Withdrawal brochure to arrange to do so and for details and to set this up. The system is operational. See Ralph Ris or Glenn Hulstein for more info or help with this.

  • Did you know the city is considering special permission to allow the gambling industry to expand into Newton through slot machines. Email city counsellors to express opposition to this potentially destructive step now! (Go to: www.surrey.ca). 6% of our population struggle with gambling related issues. Speak out now, prior to the yet-to-be determined hearing.

  • Camp Charis has many new & exciting things coming up for the spring and summer. Go to their newly improved website www.chariscamp.com for more information on summer camps & other events.

  • Surrey Food Bank needs your food donations at any time. Please drop off food donations in the box found in the church foyer. Needed are canned meat, meals in a tin, Macaroni & Cheese, pasta, canned or dry soups, peanut butter, canned vegetables & fruits and cereal. Cash donations are welcome as well! Volunteers are appreciated too.

  • Are you retired? Working part-time? Needing some good physical exercise on Friday mornings? Wanting to make some wonderful new friends? Yes? Then why not consider joining our Tool Time Crew?!! There is always more work than can be completed with the number of volunteers we currently have. Get involved!

  • The Surrey Family Mentoring Program is looking for volunteer mentors to mentor families in the Surrey Area. If you would enjoy offering 9/the care and guidance that you were given or wish you had been given while raising your family, please call 604-584-5811 to talk to Mary Ydenberg, or go to their website at www.scss.ca

  • Our Agape Fund is in place to provide financial assistance to people in our congregation who are in special need. Donations to this fund are welcome at any time.
