 EMCC MISSIONS . . .

• The Evangelical Missionary Church of Canada is committed to the task of world missions (EMCC Missions). In fact, that task lies at the heart of every local EMCC Church. Mission is no longer what we do overseas – it is what we do wherever we are as members of the Church of Jesus Christ.

• Some of that work is located overseas, however, and that is overseen by EMCC-World Partners (EMCC-WP). World Partners missionaries are made up both of those who are fully supported by EMCC, and those who are EMCC members who minister under other mission or para-church organizations. Currently there are 96 EMCC Missionaries, 31 Canada East Affiliate and 30 Canada West Affiliate missionaries for a total of 157 missionaries serving in 37 countries around the world. 33 EMCC missionaries serve with the denominational operational missions program, World Partners. 

MISSIONS AT BEAR CREEK

• Mission involvement has a high priority at Bear Creek Community Church. Current prayer requests are circulated to be prayed for each Sunday.

• Our Council Mission Overseer and other members with a heart for missions, seek to keep our church connected to our supported missionaries, our mission task and praying for mission needs. We seek to keep close to our missionaries, writing them to keep them encouraged, and praying extensively for them.

• Several of our youth have gone on short-term mission assignments and this is strongly encouraged for all and generously supported by our members.

• Each fall our church organizes a missions trip to Baja, Mexico to serve at Foundation for His Ministry (www.ffhm.org). This has been a life changing experience for many people already! 

•  In 2006 our church partnered with another foundation in sending a team on a mission trip to Romania.

 ANNUAL MISSION TRIPS

• Next year’s annual trip to Mexico is scheduled for October 2008 – "To You With Love" — Mexico Mission Trip

• Volunteers interested in being considered for the mission team, need to apply in advance to: missions@bearcreekcc.org. Applying does not guarantee acceptance. Although costs are kept low, each participant must pay their own way, plus something toward the individual project cost.  

BEAR CREEK’S MISSIONARIES

•  Bear Creek has linked with several missionaries whom we are committed to supporting and praying for in the work they do. Those we have adopted as "ours" include:

• Marilyn Meier: in ministry with Power to Change (formerly, Campus Crusade for Christ, working) in human resources in the Canadian office in Langley (www.powertochange.org).

• Helmut & Tina Markeli: based in Edmonton, AB and serving as western Canada reps of OMS (www.omscanada.org)

•  Walter & Melita Mohr: based in Hamiloton, ON, serving in ministry to Muslims, with WEC International - Indoserv, in Indonesia (www.wec-int.org).

•  Art & Betty Tiede: based in Campbell River, BC and serving as Western Canada representatives for Global Outreach Mission (www.globaloutreachmission.org).

• John & Cheryl Zumbrunn: serving with EMCC World Partners as full-time missionary volunteers in Romania (www.emcc.ca)

• In addition, our Punjabi Christian Centre Fellowship and the people of Bear Creek have helped Pastor Balhar plant and build a church in India, and help fund this ongoing church ministry.
