Pastor Ross Johnston – Senior Pastor

Pastor Ross began his ministry as senior pastor at BCCC on August 1, 2002. He has almost 30 years of pastoral and para-church ministry experience in the Church of the Nazarene, the Mennonite Brethren Church and the Evangelical Missionary Church of Canada denominations and various ministries. He has a Th.B. from Canadian Nazarene College, as well as M.Div. and M.R.E. degrees from Nazarene Theological Seminary. Married in 1971, he and wife Beverley, have three children: Heidi (married to Ryan in 2004), Kent and Michelle. They are looking forward to becoming grandparents in 2008!

Pastor Ross is committed to both God and people. His love for both is evident. A trained pastoral counselor, he is available to be used as a channel to help link people who may be spiritually hungry, to the God who loves them and can help with life’s problems. Through God-given spiritual gifts of preaching and teaching, he seeks each week to communicate the truth of God’s Word in clear, uncompromising, understandable and interesting ways. Doug Frew – Pastor of Youth & Young Adult Ministries 

August 1, 2007, Pastor Doug began his ministry at BCCC, ministering in a full-time position primarily to youth and young adults. After completion of his B.A. in Biblical Studies at Columbia Bible College, God gave him a specific call to Surrey. Married to Jan in 2000, they have three young children: Claire, Hudson and Garret. Doug’s fun-loving nature and off-the-wall sense of humour have endeared him to young and old alike. His heart for the community and for youth not-yet-in-the-church, ensure that more and more will be included in the days to come.

Pastor Binder Mahil – Punjabi Ministry

Pastor Binder is now a full time pastor of our Punjabi Christian Centre – a ministry outreach of BCCC. Along with his wife Harjit, they are a dedicated couple who care for the needs of this close, growing fellowship of Indo-Canadian people. With their two boys, Gagan and Paramveer, full-time pastoral work and the care of their growing group they are kept busy. The Punjabi Centre helped plant, build and continues to support a church in the Punjab in India. This, along with CD’s of the Bible read in Punjabi, and worship songs sung in Punjabi which are distributed around the world free of charge, give them an international impact.  

     The Mahils are available to minister to those who speak Punjabi and the Centre is always willing to include one more person or family in their circle of care and love. To contact them call 604-435-1467 or email them at punjabifellowship@bearcreekcc.org.

Annette Hollender –Administrative Assistant

Annette serves our church and staff in countless ways, working on a part-time basis. Office duties include reception, phone, special projects and desktop publishing. She set up and maintains our computer network, this being an area of special interest and hobby for her. She maintains our church management database and does a host of other duties too numerous to list. Annette’s least favourite, but a very critical role, is that of rental coordinator and facility booking. No use of the church can be arranged nor is it finalized until it goes through her. This helps eliminate double booking conflicts and a lot of disappointment for everyone! She comes to us with extensive experience in a variety of business offices, as well as five years in a church office. She and her husband Ron have been warmly welcomed into the fellowship of Bear Creek Church. Parents of two young adult children, Danica and Russell, their lives are full with many interests and activities. Annette's cheery voice and friendly disposition will greet you should you call the office for something she may be able to help you with.
